District 7 Participatory Budgeting Winners!

Thank you so much to the 14 community groups, council constituency coordinators Laura, Michelle, Emily & Kate, the 200+ residents who came out to vote and to former Councillor Mason for starting this heartwarming tradition in Halifax.

It was great to meet all of you that I had a chance to chat with. I was glad to hear that the event was anticipated as a highlight by some attendees, and a great civics lesson for the next generation of voters.

$70 080 in District 7 Capital funding goes to:

  1. Adsum House- $10,000
  2. Gorsebrook Junior High- $10,000
  3. LeMarchant- St Thomas Elementary School- $10,000
  4. Phoenix House Youth Shelter- $5,000
  5. Spencer House- $5,580
  6. St Andrew’s United Church- $10,000
  7. Inglis Street Elementary- $2,000
  8. Halifax Dance- $4,500
  9. Saint Mary’s Elementary- $3,500
  10. Halifax Brewery Market- $9,000
  11. Ecology Action Centre- $500
